Slip and Shop…

I’ve been able to throw a couple of larger pieces in the last couple of weeks and thought I would add a little Brittany Heraldry and a Celtic influence to the decorating.

On deciding upon the designs and the method of decoration, using stencils to apply the blue slip, I was confronted with a problem; I didn’t have enough transparent glaze to dip these bigger pots.

I was saved by my fellow potter, Brendan, who was able to supply all the necessary raw materials and these pots were fired with his transparent glaze formula which I have christened “Murphy’s homebrew”.

In more news, I have been lucky enough to be accepted by the local Boutique des Createurs, in Huelgoat Square, to sell my ceramics. So if you are in the town, pop in and see my display alongside the work of other local artists.

Having spent 5 wonderful years in France I have moved to Suffolk in UK. I am looking forward to creating and sharing a new range of ceramics and pottery.
