Into the new year and I am moving onto a new challenge. This will be of particular interest to my readers living in and around Huelgoat. I am now able to offer my studio to those wishing to “play with clay”. This could be a novice, who wants to get their hands dirty for the first time; or a practiced ceramicist, who needs access to materials, a kiln and maybe a wheel, but hasn’t got space in their own home.
My studio is relatively small but it means that anyone who would like to take advantage of the facilities, and / or my knowledge, will be in a quieter environment than that in a larger evening class or workshop. I would not expect to have more than 2 or 3 people working at the same time.
I offer a free hour long session where you can come along and see the studio, meet me, have a go at working with clay, and discuss what you might want to get out of ceramics in the short, medium or long term.
I try to be very flexible when it comes to session times but I suggest a minimum of 2 hours to allow time before and after for preparation and cleaning up. This should leave a good hour and a half for potting. We can match your availability to mine when we meet at the free session.
I would love to do this for free but sadly clay, glazes, kiln firings etc all cost money so I have decided on a rate of 10 euros an hour, so 20 euros per 2 hour session. If you decide to book 4 sessions in advance you only pay 70 euros and benefit from a 10 euro discount.
If you are interested please drop me an email at ptbgrogan@gmail.com and we can arrange the free taster session.
